Warren is recognised by the profession as an accredited specialist in the area of Property Law. Warren’s other principal area of practice is wills and estates.
Solicitor - Family Lawyer (Partner)
Val’s principal area of practice is Family Law which includes property settlements, parenting and divorce. Prior to marriage, couples may wish to enter into a financial agreement, commonly known as a prenuptial agreement, or a cohabitation agreement for those who intend to live together but not marry. When parties separate, a financial agreement can be entered into to finalise parties’ financial affairs on a final basis. Alternately, parties can enter into consent orders to finalise their financial affairs and when the matter is agreed, then parties do not need to attend court when the orders are made.
With respect to parenting matters, parties need to first attend counselling/mediation (in most cases) and if this is unsuccessful, it is then necessary to approach the court for orders. Val has been acting in this area for 25 years with a focus on settling matters by agreement where possible, but when that cannot happen, to see matters through the court process. Other areas of practice for Val are conveyancing, wills and estates.
Laura has a broad range of experience as a Secretary/Paralegal and Licensed Conveyancer. Laura now undertakes instructions in all conveyancing matters but principally in the sale and purchase of residential property. Laura is accomplished in e-conveyancing and where possible Laura and the whole firm undertake conveyancing in this manner, which has the great advantage of being paperless, quick and efficient.
